Therapy-Focused Psychiatry in New Haven

Psychodynamic psychotherapy with medication when clinically helpful

I provide psychotherapy-centered psychiatric care for people seeking deeper, longer-term work. My practice is designed for patients who want to better understand themselves, their emotions, their relationships, and the patterns that have shaped their lives.

As a psychiatrist, I can also evaluate whether medication may be helpful and integrate medication thoughtfully into treatment when clinically appropriate.

Self-pay practice with transparent fees and monthly superbills for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

This practice may be a good fit if you are looking for:

  • Ongoing psychotherapy, not just brief medication visits

  • A psychiatrist who can think with you psychologically and medically

  • A reflective, collaborative treatment relationship

  • Help understanding long-standing emotional or relational patterns

  • Self-pay care with transparent fees and monthly superbills

  • Treatment that supports insight, emotional growth, and lasting change

How I work

My approach is psychodynamic and psychotherapy-centered. This means treatment focuses not only on symptoms, but also on the patterns, feelings, relationships, and life experiences connected to distress.

In our work together, I take time to understand the whole person: your history, inner world, emotions, relationships, goals, and current difficulties. Medication may be part of treatment when clinically helpful and is approached as one part of a broader therapeutic process.
